The All Progressives Congress APC in Abia state has reaffirmed its intention to unseat the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, denying reports that the Labour Party LP has gained command of the South East geographical zone.
High Chief Ikechi Emenike, Abia APC Governorship candidate, said this on Tuesday in Abuja when he led stakeholders from the state on a thank you visit to the party’s Senator Abdullahi Adamu-led National Working Committee NWC.
When asked whether the APC is concerned that the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, is from the South East zone and appears to be creating ripples, Emenike said that Peter is just making waves on the internet.
Emenike told media during a meeting with the party’s leadership that the APC is under assault from other parties in the state as a result of its present wide appeal, which puts it in a strong position to win the 2023 governorship race.
