The Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, launched a 163-member campaign Council on Thursday to oversee the 2023 general elections for the party’s candidates across the state in order to achieve success for the party’s candidates.

Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, the state chairman of the APC, in particular, requested the council to ensure at least five million votes for the party’s Presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-re-election Olu’s campaign, Senators, and others.

Ojelabi made the statement while launching the campaign council at the party’s secretariat in Acme, Ogba.

The council is led by Governor Sanwo-Olu, with Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat serving as Vice Chairman.

The council is made up of delegates from various fora within the party, including current and previous state political office holders.

While the names of earlier governors were included, the name of the immediate past governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, was glaringly absent.

In his inaugural address, Ojelabi stated that the council should focus on problems that would contribute to the party’s victory in 2023, and that members should be steadfast, devoted, and law-abiding during the assignment.
