Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu asked the Federal Government on Thursday to award Lagos with a special economic status.
The governor, who labeled the state as a “national asset,” stated that the advantages of Lagos extend beyond a single area of the country, since all Nigerians benefit from the state’s wealth in some manner.
Sanwo-Olu stated this during the presentation of the 2023 Budget Estimates to the Lagos State House of Assembly in the Alausa area of Ikeja, the state capital.
He gave budget estimates of N1,692,670,759,894, including recurring expenses of N759,958,569,792 (45%) and capital expenses of N932,712,190,102 (55%).
The governor titled the budget the “Budget of Continuity,” and stated that its efficient implementation will benefit everyone.
