On Saturday, October 15, Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni announced that the government would impose an overnight curfew, close places of worship and entertainment, and restrict movement in and out of two Ebola-affected districts for 21 days.
In a televised national speech, he said that the steps intended to stop the disease’s spread will be implemented right away in the central Ugandan districts of Mubende and Kassanda.
Museveni said 19 people have died since the east African nation announced the outbreak of the deadly hemorrhagic fever on Sept. 20.
