President Bola Tinubu on Monday held a closed-door meeting with the nation’s service chiefs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Although the agenda of the meeting was not made public, sources believe it is connected to ongoing reviews of Nigeria’s security architecture and recent developments within the armed forces.
In attendance were the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Olufemi Oluyode; the Chief of Army Staff, Major General Waidi Shaibu; the Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Idi Abbas; and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Kennedy Aneke.
The meeting comes just days after President Tinubu approved a major shake-up in the military hierarchy, appointing new heads of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
Details of the discussions were yet to be disclosed as of press time.
