Mike Ozekhome, SAN, the lead attorney for the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has written to the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice (AGF), Abubakar Malami, urging that the Court of Appeal’s decision on Kanu be implemented immediately.
In a three-page letter dated October 17, 2022, Ozekhome urged that the AGF promptly and unconditionally free Kanu from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).
Remember that the Court of Appeal in Abuja declared on Thursday that Kanu’s rendition from Kenya was unconstitutional and that he should be dismissed and acquitted.
However, Kanu remains in DSS custody since the AGF, Malami, claimed that he (Kanu) was merely discharged and not acquitted.
