Olorogun Oscar Ibru, billionaire businessman and chairman of the Ibru Organisation, has died at the age of 67.
His family confirmed that he passed away after a brief illness, though no further details were disclosed.
Ibru, one of the most prominent heirs of the Ibru dynasty, was a key figure in Nigeria’s corporate sector. He played a significant role in sustaining and expanding the vast family conglomerate founded by his late father, Olorogun Michael Ibru, with investments in shipping, oil and gas, real estate, and commerce.
Widely regarded as a visionary entrepreneur, he upheld the legacy of the Ibru Organisation, which under his leadership remained a driver of employment, wealth creation, and philanthropic initiatives.
His death comes nine years after the passing of his father, Michael Ibru, in 2016. Funeral arrangements will be announced by the family in due course.
