The Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has begun reimbursing the state for excess money paid by 1, 046 pilgrims who performed the 2022 Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
Dr Yusuf Arrigasiyyu, the agency’s Executive Secretary, stated this in an interview on Thursday, November 3rd in Kaduna.
He stated that N115, 692.11 will be refunded to each of the 1, 046 pilgrims.
The executive secretary also stated that another 1,443 pilgrims who performed Hajj from the state will be reimbursed through Jaiz Bank.
According to Arrigasiyyu, pilgrims from Zaria, Sabon Gari, Soba, and Lere Local Government Areas began receiving refunds on Monday (LGAs).
On Tuesday, November 1st pilgrims from Ikara, Kubau, Makarfi, and Kudan LGAs were paid, followed by those from Igabi, Giwa, Kaduna North, and Kaduna South.
Other pilgrims from Chikun, Kajuru, Jema’a, Kachia, Jaba, Kaura, Kagarko, Sanga, and Zangon Kataf, according to Arrigasiyyu, will receive their refunds between Wednesday and Thursday.
According to the executive secretary, the agency will refund N147 million to the 1, 046 pilgrims.
