State governors have called on Muslims across Nigeria to embrace the virtues of sacrifice, peace, tolerance, and compassion exemplified by Prophet Muhammad (SAW) as the nation joins the global community to celebrate Eid-ul-Mawlid.
In a statement, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, through his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, congratulated Muslims in the state and beyond, urging them to reflect on the Prophet’s teachings of kindness, humility, and peaceful coexistence. He encouraged residents to support his administration’s reforms and to pray for enduring unity and prosperity.
Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo described the occasion as a reminder of the Prophet’s message of unity and respect for all, regardless of background. In a statement by his spokesman, Christian Aburime, Soludo reaffirmed his government’s commitment to fostering inclusiveness and peaceful coexistence among residents.
Similarly, Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru, in a message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Monday Uzor, said the celebration should inspire renewal of faith and commitment to love and compassion. He urged Muslims to observe the festivities with humility and charity while assuring that his administration would continue to implement policies to improve residents’ welfare.
The governors commended Muslims in their respective states for their peaceful coexistence and urged them to continue contributing to national development.
