The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested four suspects linked to a one-chance robbery and attempted abduction in Abuja. Two victims were rescued during the operation.
In a statement, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, said the incident occurred on October 8, 2025, around 10:09 p.m., when a distressed victim called to report her abduction by suspected criminals who demanded a ransom of ₦1 million for her release.
According to Adeh, operatives from the Life Camp Division swiftly responded and, through the use of tactical and digital intelligence, tracked the suspects to Dape Village, where they were arrested on October 9 at about 4:30 a.m. following a fierce confrontation. Two abducted victims were rescued, one of whom sustained multiple stab wounds and was rushed to Gwarinpa General Hospital for treatment.
The suspects were identified as Solomon Tanko, Samuel Audu, Chigozie Joseph, and Emmanuel Chidiebere. Preliminary investigations revealed that the gang had been terrorizing the Bannex and Kado areas, using a vehicle with tinted windows to lure and rob unsuspecting passengers. The suspects reportedly confessed to robbing at least six victims before their arrest.
Items recovered from the gang include 15 international passports, two daggers, two cutlasses, four mobile phones, two hammers, bloodstained documents, and three biros.
Adeh stated that the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, commended the swift response of the Life Camp Division and urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to aid police efforts in combating crime across the territory.
