Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has finished fourth in the 2025 Women’s Yachine Trophy rankings, while England’s Hannah Hampton claimed the top honour at the Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris on Monday night.

Hampton, 24, was recognised for her outstanding season in which she helped England secure the Euro 2025 title—saving two penalties in the final against Spain—and guided Chelsea to an unbeaten treble.

Nnadozie, meanwhile, was rewarded for her stellar performances at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where she was named best goalkeeper after leading Nigeria to a dramatic 3-2 win over hosts Morocco in the final, sealing the Falcons’ 10th continental crown.

Super Falcons coach Justin Madugu was also nominated for Women’s Team Coach of the Year but lost to England’s Sarina Wiegman, who added a second European title to her résumé.

Other winners on the night included Barcelona’s Vicky López, who took the Women’s Kopa Trophy, and Spain’s Lamine Yamal, who made history by retaining the men’s Kopa Trophy. PSG’s Gianluigi Donnarumma was named the world’s best goalkeeper, securing his second Yachine Trophy.

The 69th Ballon d’Or ceremony celebrated the standout performers of the 2024/25 football season, with President Bola Tinubu recently honouring the Super Falcons at home for their WAFCON success.
