The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has directed all Air Component Commanders to intensify precision air operations and deliver more decisive firepower against insurgents, terrorists, and criminal elements threatening Nigeria’s peace and stability.
Aneke gave the order during a meeting with Air Component Commanders from all operational theatres at the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday.
According to the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF Headquarters, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the meeting marked a key step in recalibrating the Force’s operational posture under its new leadership.
The CAS urged the commanders to translate strategy into action, sustain operational tempo, and ensure that every sortie produced tangible results. He said the days ahead required “agility, precision, and intelligence-driven warfare.”
“We must fly smarter and strike harder, not only to neutralise threats but also to protect the lives and property of Nigerians. Every mission must reflect professionalism, purpose, and patriotism,” Aneke stated.
He stressed the need for coordinated air, land, and maritime operations to effectively tackle the evolving security threats across the country.
“Our operations must be intelligence-led, coordinated, and focused. We will continue to work closely with the sister services and other security agencies to ensure a united front in the fight against terrorism and criminality,” he added.
Aneke also reaffirmed his commitment to personnel welfare, training, and innovation, noting that the NAF would continue to invest in technology and capacity development to improve mission effectiveness.
