The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Anambra State, Mr. John Nwosu, has said that residents of the state have realized by themselves why they should not return Governor Chukwuma Soludo to power in the forthcoming November 8 election.

Nwosu, who is among the 15 candidates challenging the incumbent governor, made the remarks in a statement he personally signed and circulated to journalists.

He said: “Anambra deserves a governor who will not lie to them — a governor they can trust. For that, vote ADC. We are gratified that Ndi Anambra have seen once again why they cannot and should not return Soludo to power.”

The ADC candidate accused Governor Soludo of misleading the public by allegedly commissioning a hospital project that was not built or made operational by his administration. “Any governor who can deceptively tell an electorate that he has commissioned a hospital project which he did not, and which is not even operational, does not deserve re-election. Trust is sacrosanct, so too is the truth,” he stated.

Nwosu said his grassroots engagements over the weekend took him to Agulu, Awka, Igboukwu, Ojoto, and Nnewi, where he met with community leaders, sympathized with bereaved families, and interacted with stakeholders.

Governor Soludo’s aides have, however, denied the allegations, insisting that the governor indeed initiated and completed the hospital project in question.
