In its weather outlook released Friday in Abuja, NiMet predicted slight dust haze over parts of Borno, Jigawa, Katsina, Kano, Zamfara, and Sokoto States on Saturday, while the rest of the northern region is expected to remain sunny throughout the forecast period.

For the central region, sunny skies with occasional cloud patches are anticipated, while the southern states will experience partly cloudy mornings, with isolated thunderstorms and light rains expected later in the day in Abia, Imo, Anambra, Edo, Ekiti, Oyo, Ondo, Osun, Ogun, Lagos, Delta, Bayelsa, Cross River, Rivers, and Akwa Ibom States.

On Sunday, NiMet predicted moderate dust haze with visibility between 2 km and 5 km over Kano, Katsina, Bauchi, Gombe, Yobe, Jigawa, and Borno, while the rest of the North will remain sunny and hazy. Central regions are expected to remain sunny with occasional clouds, while southern areas may see thunderstorms with moderate rains in Bayelsa, Ogun, Ondo, Edo, Rivers, and Cross River States later in the day.

NiMet advised residents to stay informed through regular weather updates and recommended precautions for those with asthma and other respiratory conditions due to dust particles in the northern region. Drivers are urged to exercise caution during rains, and airline operators should obtain airport-specific weather reports for effective planning.
