Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area came alive today,10th May, 2025, as the Executive Chairman, Hon. Barr. Chijioke Ezugwu, welcomed the Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, who was on an official inspection tour.
The visit was focused on assessing the ongoing construction of the Naval Base at Ogurugu and the proposed Police Station at Camp Nkpologu. CP Giwa, accompanied by senior police officers, was warmly received by Barr. Ezugwu and his team.
During the inspection, the Commissioner commended the level of progress on the projects and praised the Council Chairman for his commitment despite prevailing security challenges. He also lauded Governor Peter Mbah for his administration’s support, particularly the provision of AI-enabled patrol vehicles, which he described as a major boost to security operations in the state.
Addressing residents, CP Giwa emphasized the importance of community involvement in security efforts, urging the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities. He appealed for increased collaboration between security agencies and local stakeholders to enhance policing, especially in vulnerable areas.
In his remarks, Chairman Ezugwu expressed appreciation to the Police Commissioner for deploying additional mobile officers to the area. He assured that the remaining facilities at the Camp Nkpologu Police Station would be completed soon, reaffirming his administration’s dedication to tackling insecurity.
Ezugwu also acknowledged the unwavering support of Governor Mbah, assuring that under his leadership, Uzo-Uwani would remain secure and peaceful.
