UPDATE: Ebubeagu Denies Kidnap Of Ebonyi Labour Party Senatorial Candidate, Linus Okorie

Hon. Linus Okorie, the Labour Party’s Senatorial Candidate for the Ebonyi South Senatorial District, has been abducted.

On Sunday, the former House of Representatives member was reportedly kidnapped in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital.

Okorie was allegedly taken by the Ebubeagu security group in the state, according to a statement issued by one David Ogbonna on behalf of the Linus Okorie Caring Heart Foundation.

Mr. Friday Ujor, Sector Commander of Ebubeagu, dismissed the accusation of his squad being behind the incident as baseless and vindictive, he said;

“The information is fake. There is nothing concerning Ebubeagu with that information. I have asked the people sending this where it happened, maybe he has fallen into the hands of kidnappers and they are calling Ebubeagu.”

“How can someone say that his phone is reading Ebounwana in Afikpo and Abakaliki at the same time? This is a clear case of you wanting to kill a dog and you give it a bad name to suit what you want.” He added
