Authorities in the United Arab Emirates have rescued 24 crew members from the oil tanker ADALYNN following a collision with another vessel in the Gulf of Oman, near the vital Strait of Hormuz, officials confirmed on Tuesday.

According to a statement posted on X by the UAE National Guard, the rescue operation was carried out using search and rescue boats, and all crew members were safely transported to the port of Khor Fakkan.

British maritime security firm Ambrey, which first reported the incident, said the collision took place 22 nautical miles east of Khor Fakkan. The company emphasized that the incident was not linked to any security threat.

The accident comes amid growing regional tensions as Iran and Israel continue to exchange military strikes for a fifth straight day. The latest escalation, which began with Israeli air raids on Friday, has heightened concerns across the region.

Maritime and naval sources have also reported an increase in electronic interference affecting the navigation systems of commercial vessels operating in the Strait of Hormuz and the surrounding Gulf waters. These disruptions have added to the risks in an area already considered one of the world’s most sensitive maritime corridors.

The Strait of Hormuz, a narrow waterway between Iran and Oman, serves as a crucial artery for global energy flows. According to energy analytics firm Vortexa, between early 2022 and May 2025, an estimated 17.8 to 20.8 million barrels per day of crude oil, condensates, and refined fuels transited through the strait—accounting for nearly 20% of global oil consumption.
