TOURISM: Gov Ayade Kicks Off Calabar Carnival 2022

Cross River State Governor Ben Ayade launched the first dry run for the 2022 Calabar Carnival on Sunday.

Speaking about the carnival’s theme, ‘Agro-Industralisation,’ Ayade explained that it was deliberately picked to convey a message to global communities that Africans can rely on themselves for food while opposing Africans’ excessive reliance on western nations for food.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the carnival had not been held since 2020.
