Nigerian Award-winning artist, Tiwa Savage, believes her late father, Daddy Savage, would be overjoyed with her new title.
Tiwa was awarded an honorary doctorate in music by the University of Kent in the United Kingdom on July 15, 2022.
On July 5, the UK university announced plans to honor some of its alumni, including Tiwa Savage, who graduated with a degree in Business Administration for her outstanding and inspirational performances in the music industry.
The Afrobeats queen, who recently graced the cover of Schick Magazine (a fashion, beauty, and lifestyle publication for African women), revealed that her parents, particularly her late father, who died in July 2021, valued education.
She wrote: “Having a solid education was something extremely important to my parents-especially my father, he passed away last year but know he would be very proud that I am now Dr Tiwa Savage.”
