President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday expressed gratitude to state governors for their continued trust and support, pledging not to let them down as he works to deliver on the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The President made the remarks during a one-day official visit to Nasarawa State, where he lauded the governors for their commitment to the administration’s development vision aimed at rebuilding lives and strengthening the nation.

“Seeing the governors here is truly an emotional day for me. Thank you for the way you showed up with grace and glory. Thank you for keeping your loyalty intact,” he said.

During a visit to the Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad (retd.), President Tinubu assured the people and government of Nasarawa State of the federal government’s continued collaboration, particularly in developing the solid minerals and agriculture sectors.

He also praised Governor Abdullahi Sule’s prudent management of state resources, describing it as a factor that has earned him credibility with both the federal government and investors.

“I am happy to be back here in Nasarawa and to confirm what the Emir told me during the 2023 campaigns — that I would return as President. Thank you for your foresight and integrity,” Tinubu said.

He commended the traditional rulers and state government for maintaining peace and stability, promising to intensify efforts to fulfill the promises of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“All I have decided is to ensure a change for the future and the best,” the President stated, adding that his administration’s policies are designed to benefit the youth and future generations.

Referring to Governor Sule’s achievements, Tinubu noted: “We just commissioned an interchange, and he told us he did not borrow a penny for completion.”

In his remarks, the Emir of Lafia, who also chairs the Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs, applauded President Tinubu’s leadership and his efforts to reposition Nigeria’s economy.

“Your Excellency, we remember how you transformed Lagos during your tenure as governor. We believe you will do the same for Nigeria,” the Emir said. “You are translating that experience into national economic revival, and before you leave office, Nigeria will be great again.”

The Emir pledged the full support of the traditional institution to the President.

President Tinubu was received at the Lafia airport by Governor Sule, who later accompanied him to commission key infrastructure projects, including an interchange and flyover in the state capital. Other projects inaugurated include a new secretariat complex, road networks, farming tractors for mechanised agriculture, and operational vehicles for security agencies.

The event was attended by several governors, including those of Kaduna, Imo, Borno, Ogun, Kwara, and Benue States.
