President Bola Tinubu has congratulated His Imperial Majesty, Oba Akinloye Olakulehin (Ige Olakulehin I), on his 90th birthday, celebrated on July 5, and the first anniversary of his coronation as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, which falls on July 12.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described the monarch as a symbol of age-old wisdom, service, and enduring leadership, who has devoted decades to community development and national unity.
The President joined the people of Ibadanland, the traditional institution, and well-wishers across Nigeria and beyond in honouring the royal father’s impactful reign, marked by peace, wisdom, and a deep commitment to progress.
“Oba Olakulehin is a foremost traditional ruler and custodian of Yoruba culture and tradition. As he marks nine decades of service, sacrifice, and stewardship, and celebrates his first year on the throne of his forefathers, we celebrate his immense contributions to his community and our nation,” President Tinubu said.
He prayed for continued strength, grace, good health, and a long life for the monarch, expressing hope that his reign will continue to be a symbol of peace, prosperity, and pride for future generations.
President Tinubu Felicitates NSC Chairman Shehu Dikko at 55
President Tinubu also extended birthday greetings to the Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Mallam Shehu Dikko, on his 55th birthday.
He praised Dikko as a reform-minded and disciplined administrator who has contributed significantly to the development of Nigerian sports, including the transformation of the domestic football league and his current leadership of the nation’s apex sports body.
According to the President, under Dikko’s stewardship, the NSC is being repositioned as a more dynamic, accountable, and performance-driven institution, aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda’s focus on youth empowerment, national unity, and economic development.
President Tinubu commended Dikko for his commitment to excellence and wished him continued health, strength, and greater accomplishments in the service of the nation.
