It’s one of those dishes that are simply unattractive, but going by the comments on the original tweet from people that have tasted it, the dish tastes better than it looks, so good that is referred to as ‘one the country’s oldest and richest delicacies’. A product doesn’t transcend time like that if it is not that good.

According to a 2015 report by Pulse Ghana, a lot of people in Ghana tend to shy away from this soup.

“But he who has been able to overcome his fear of the greens will discover a delicious soup that is not only satisfying, but full of nutrients. It is also pretty easy and quick to make,” the report reads.

Africans from all corners are shredding the dish and calling it all sorts of names. From South Africa to Ghana itself, from Uganda to Nigeria, people’s comments are not in favor of this traditional dish. But interestingly, those that have tasted it, whether from Ghana or outside Ghana, are full of praises for the stew.

While food appearance is known to influence how the food tastes, this delicious stew looks nothing like it tastes, apparently.
