Nigeria’s Super Falcons are expected to arrive in Morocco on Wednesday as they begin their final preparations for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), according to DAILY POST.
The team, led by head coach Justine Madugu, played out a goalless draw against Portugal in a friendly match at the Estadio Jose Gomes on Monday night.
Before their departure, the squad will hold a light training session on Tuesday.
Up next for the Super Falcons is another friendly fixture against familiar foes, the Black Queens of Ghana, scheduled for Sunday.
Nigeria will kick off their WAFCON 2024 campaign on Sunday, July 6, with a group stage clash against Tunisia in Casablanca. They will also face Botswana and Algeria in Group B as they aim to extend their dominance on the continent, having already claimed the title a record nine times.
