Nigeria’s Super Falcons kicked off their 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations campaign in style, delivering a resounding 3-0 win over Tunisia, according to BSNSports.com.ng.
The nine-time African champions set the tone early, with star striker Asisat Oshoala finding the back of the net within the opening minutes to give Nigeria an early lead.
Making her tournament debut, Rinsola Babajide doubled the advantage just before the break, calmly finishing in the 44th minute to put the Super Falcons firmly in control at halftime.
Tunisia came out more organized in the second half, managing to frustrate the Nigerian attack for much of the period.
However, their resistance eventually crumbled in the 83rd minute when Chinwendu Ihezuo added a third goal to seal the result.
Despite Tunisia’s late push to grab a consolation goal, the Super Falcons remained solid at the back, comfortably seeing out a convincing 3-0 victory.
