President Bola Tinubu returned to Abuja on Monday night following a two-week working visit to France and the United Kingdom.
The President’s aircraft, Nigeria Air Force 1, landed at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at 9:50 p.m., where he was received by top government officials.
Among those at the airport to welcome him were the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume; Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu; and FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.
President Tinubu had departed Nigeria on April 2 for engagements in Paris, before later proceeding to London. According to his media team, the President remained actively engaged with national affairs during his stay abroad, maintaining communication with top officials and issuing directives on emerging security threats.
While in Paris, Tinubu also held a high-level meeting with Mr. Massad Boulos, Senior Advisor for Africa at the U.S. Department of State. Discussions focused on enhancing bilateral ties, regional security, and sustainable economic development across Africa.
The talks also highlighted joint efforts to promote lasting peace in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) through multilateral cooperation and engagement with regional stakeholders.
The meeting reflected Nigeria’s continued commitment to addressing complex security and development challenges through strategic international partnerships.
