The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a stern warning to its members against engaging in anti-party activities ahead of the forthcoming Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections, declaring zero tolerance for disloyalty.

The warning was delivered on Tuesday during a certificate presentation ceremony at the PDP FCT Secretariat, where the party officially presented nomination certificates to its candidates for the council polls.

Speaking on behalf of the PDP National Chairman, Umar Damagum, the party’s Vice Chairman for the North Central zone, Abdulrahman Mohammed, cautioned that any act of disloyalty or sabotage would attract strict disciplinary measures.

“Any misbehaviour will no longer be tolerated. If anyone is not ready for this task, they should step aside immediately so we can replace them without delay,” he stated.

Mohammed further emphasized that the party had established functional disciplinary committees at both state and local government levels to deal with erring members.

“Anyone found campaigning or working with other political parties will be sanctioned. Such actions will be treated as anti-party activities,” he warned.

Reaffirming the party’s preparedness for the elections, Damagum assured that the PDP would safeguard its mandate.

“No one will tamper with our votes. By God’s grace, we will be present at every polling unit, ensure votes are counted, and protect the will of the people,” he said.

Also speaking at the event, FCT PDP Chairman, Ismaila Dogara, called for unity among members, urging party leaders to bury past grievances and work together to ensure victory at the polls.

Chairman of the PDP Reconciliation Committee in the FCT, Hassan Sokedebo, took a swipe at the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), saying the APC’s internal challenges were far worse than those of the PDP.
