Chief Olisa Metuh, a former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has resigned from the party.

Metuh stated in his resignation letter to PDP National Chairman Dr. Iyorchia Ayu that he was leaving the major opposition because he could no longer engage in partisan politics in Nigeria.

Metuh was the PDP’s longest-serving national officer, having been elected to various party posts at the national level, six times in a row, the most recent being National Publicity Secretary from 2012 to 2016.
