The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leadership has stated that the party has not given up hope on reconciling Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and the four other PDP governors in his camp with the party.
The five governors have separated themselves from the PDP presidential campaign rallies, which began on October 10 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, and ended on October 17 in Kaduna.
There was no indication yesterday that the five governors will attend the PDP presidential rally slated for Saturday in Benin City, Edo State (today).
However, in an interview with journalists in Abuja on Friday, the PDP’s spokesman, Debo Ologunagba, said reconciliation efforts were still underway in order to reclaim the five disgruntled governors.
Ologunagba stated that reconciliation is a work in progress and not a race, but that something beneficial may still happen within 24 hours.
