The Acting Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Robinson Ewor, has accused Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, of working to undermine the party from within, allegedly with the support of President Bola Tinubu.
In an interview with ARISE NEWS on Monday, Ewor claimed that Wike, a former governor of Rivers State, no longer acts in the interest of the PDP and has aligned himself with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
“Nyesom Wike, FCT minister, is no longer a member of the PDP,” Ewor said. “He exists in the party only to destroy it, not just in Rivers State, but at the national level.”
Ewor also criticized Wike’s continued support for Sam Anyanwu as PDP National Secretary, describing it as part of a broader strategy to destabilize the opposition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Why is he insisting that Sam Anyanwu remain national secretary? What is his business with PDP affairs when he openly supports the APC and has pledged to work for them in 2027?” Ewor asked.
He questioned Wike’s credibility as a PDP member, saying, “In good conscience, can Nigerians still see Wike as a PDP member? The answer is no.”
Ewor went further to allege that President Tinubu is backing Wike financially to weaken the PDP from within. “Wike is only here to destroy the PDP, and the president is helping him. That is the irony—President Tinubu is funding Wike,” he claimed.
The remarks underscore deepening tensions within the PDP as internal divisions and high-profile defections continue to challenge the party’s unity ahead of the next general elections.
