Nottingham Forest have entered discussions with Italian giants Juventus over a double transfer move for wingers Timothy Weah and Samuel Mbangula, sources close to the club have confirmed.
The Premier League side are believed to be willing to pay in the region of £20 million for both players, as they look to strengthen their wide options ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Weah, a 24-year-old United States international, is well known for his pace, versatility, and attacking flair. Capable of playing as a right winger or wing-back, Weah joined Juventus from Lille in 2023 and has since made over 40 appearances for the Serie A club. He is also the son of legendary striker and former Liberian president George Weah, and has earned over 35 caps for the U.S. national team, including appearances at the FIFA World Cup.
Samuel Mbangula, on the other hand, is a promising 21-year-old left winger who has represented Belgium at the U21 level. Known for his dribbling and creativity in the final third, Mbangula is regarded as one of Juventus’ brightest young prospects and has featured prominently for their Next Gen side. Forest view him as a player with significant long-term potential and are keen to bring him into their senior setup.
Nottingham Forest are aiming to make key additions to their squad this summer following a challenging 2024/25 campaign. Head coach Nuno Espírito Santo is reportedly keen on injecting pace and youth into his attack, and both Weah and Mbangula fit the club’s current recruitment profile.
Talks between the two clubs are said to be ongoing, with personal terms yet to be finalized. However, Forest remain optimistic that a deal can be reached before the team departs for pre-season training in early July.
If the moves go through, it would mark one of Forest’s most ambitious transfer windows in recent years, underlining their intent to establish themselves as a stable Premier League side.
