Former President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has congratulated Nigerians on the country’s 62nd anniversary of independence.

In a personally signed goodwill message, the former President stated that the event provides Nigerians with an opportunity to reflect on the experience of nationhood and the prospect of progress and greatness, adding that the people have been steadfast in patriotism in difficult times.

Dr. Jonathan also noted that this year’s anniversary falls at a time when the country is preparing for general elections, and he urged Nigerians to prioritize patriotism, unity, and peace as they vote in 2023.
