President Muhammadu Buhari has named Dr. Pokop Bupwatda as the new Chief Medical Director (CMD) for Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH).
The appointment was announced on Thursday, October 20th by Mr Ahmadu Chindaya, the Deputy Director of the Federal Ministry of Health’s Media and Public Relations Unit.
Chindaya stated that Bupwatda’s appointment was communicated in a letter signed by Dr. Osagie Ehanire, Minister of Health.
The letter stated that the appointment would begin on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, and would last for four years.
The minister charged Bupwatda, in presenting the letter, to strive to add value to the facility in order to improve the economy and justify the president’s confidence in him.
“The health sector is a key sector of the economy; you should strive to improve the health facilities in your domain, take more responsibility to improve the economy and the teaching hospital’s condition,” Ehanire said.
According to the statement, the new CMD expressed his gratitude to Buhari for considering him worthy and assured him that he would not disappoint the nation.
He promised to collaborate with all stakeholders to improve the hospital’s situation.
