The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has denounced the recent killings of four soldiers in Enugu State and vigilantes in Anambra State.
The group denied involvement in the deaths and told the Nigerian Army to cease unjustly accusing its members.
In a statement issued by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, IPOB urged an international and independent inquiry into the region’s continuous killings in order to identify the culprits and their sponsors.
It asked that the Nigerian government and its military be held accountable for the deaths and burning of institutions in the region.
