Abdulrasheed Maina, the former Chairman of the disbanded Pension Reform Task Team, has stated that he is suffering from a life-threatening illness and requires immediate medical treatment.

In an ex parte application filed by his counsel, Israel Obaniyi, Maina told Justice Inyang Ekwo of a Federal High Court in Abuja. The motion was dated and filed on September 27.

According to The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, Maina cited the first and second respondents as the Minister of Interior and the Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Services Centre, respectively.

Maina, who is currently incarcerated at Kuje Prison, asked the court for an interim order directing the minister and the C-G to immediately transport him to a reputable and recognized hospital for treatment of his life-threatening diseases, pending the hearing and determination of his originating motion.
