Khaby Lame, the most popular TikToker in the world, has nearly 150 million followers on the social media app and reportedly makes $750,000 per post.
The 22-year-old, who joined TikTok during the pandemic in 2020, became the platform’s most popular creator in June, with 142.8 million followers. Khaby’s TikTok popularity paved the way for brand partnerships, sponsored content, and feature offers.
After losing his factory job, the comedian from Senegal who is currently residing in Italy started TikTok.
“The pandemic had just started, and I was bored with a lot of time on my hands, so I started making videos on TikTok,” Lame told Forbes earlier this year.
Lame earned approximately $10 million in 2021,earning about $400,000 per post, according to Forbes. The 22-year-old will now make $750,000 per TikTok video after renewing a deal with a significant Hollywood studio.
Even though he now serves as the face of Hugo Boss and earns nearly a million dollars per video clip, Lame doesn’t think he has “made it.”
“My biggest dream is to win an Oscar. It would be the ultimate honor, and that day I would say, ‘Wow, I really made it,’” Lame told Forbes.
After watching “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air,” Lame declared that his ultimate dream was to work with Will Smith in a film. Given his quick rise to fame, he may already be well on his way to realizing that dream.
