Harry Kane celebrated his first-ever team title on Saturday, calling Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga triumph “worth the wait” after lifting the league shield at the Allianz Arena.
Already crowned champions before kickoff, Bayern secured a 2-0 home victory over Borussia Monchengladbach, with Kane opening the scoring in the 31st minute—a powerful header that marked his 25th league goal of the season.
Soaked in beer after teammates doused him during the post-match celebrations, Kane told Sky Germany the moment had been “a long time coming.”
“It’s cold,” he laughed, “but there’s going to be a few more [beers] today for sure.”
The 31-year-old had previously lost six finals—three with Tottenham, two with England, and one with Bayern—and also endured a runner-up league finish with Spurs. His long-awaited success came last Sunday when Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-2 draw with Freiburg confirmed Bayern’s title win.
“It’s an incredible feeling… it’s worth the wait,” Kane said. “It’s taken a lot of hard work, a lot of sacrifice, but moments like this make it all worth it—celebrating with the team and the fans. I’m loving every minute.”
Looking ahead, Kane added, “We’ll enjoy this, but hopefully this is just the first of many. We’ve got a great team, a great coach, and we’re building something special. We’re ready for the challenge.”
Kane also gave a shout-out to longtime friend and England teammate Eric Dier, who is set to leave Bayern this summer. Like Kane, Dier earned his first career title with the club.
Meanwhile, with his former club Tottenham reaching the Europa League final to face Manchester United, Kane shared his support for the team he left two years ago.
“It’s been a tough season, but making it to the Europa League final is a great achievement,” he said. “They’ve had to beat some strong teams to get there—full credit to them.”
“I’ll be watching and hoping they win. It could be a great month for Spurs fans—many have reached out, saying they’re happy to see me finally win a title; And of course, I think we’d all love to see Spurs lift a trophy in a couple of weeks.”
