The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has called on Christians and all Nigerians to use the Easter season to pray for the country and President Bola Tinubu.
In a message commemorating Easter, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, on behalf of FEC, extended warm greetings to Nigerians, especially Christians. The statement, signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations at the OSGF, Segun Imohiosen, described the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as a symbol of hope, salvation, and liberation for Christians.
Akume urged citizens to emulate Christ’s teachings of love, forgiveness, selflessness, and forbearance. He also encouraged prayers for national peace, unity, and support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Meanwhile, former Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki, in a statement marking Good Friday, emphasized the importance of reflecting on the values of love, compassion, and sacrifice demonstrated by Jesus on the cross.
Obaseki noted that tough times often test people’s beliefs and convictions but called for unity, love, and faith in democratic ideals. He urged Nigerians to support one another, especially the less privileged, and work collectively towards a peaceful and progressive nation.
