Wilfred Ndidi has reportedly suffered only a minor hamstring tear, easing Leicester City’s concerns about the defensive midfielder’s extended absence.
Ndidi was forced to withdraw from the Nigeria squad last week due to an injury and returned to the United Kingdom, however, following an assessment, he may be able to play against Nottingham Forest next Monday.
Nigeria manager Jose Peseiro explained that City’s fitness team informed the Super Eagles that Ndidi had complained of a hamstring strain after the club’s 6-2 loss to Tottenham prior to the international break.
It was decided not to risk Ndidi after he participated in light training with his country.
