Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, Governor of Ekiti, stated on Monday that the appointment of the Secretary to the State Government, Habibat Adubiaro, and the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Dayo Apata (SAN), fulfilled his commitment to have competent individuals in the cabinet.
The governor, who spoke in Ado-Ekiti at the swearing-in of the two officials, refuted claims in certain quarters that he was pressured to choose friends by the immediate past governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, his wife, Bisi Fayemi, and former deputy governor.
Oyebanji, who added that Adubiaro and Apata were selected based on their extensive qualifications and expertise, reiterated his commitment to appointing highly qualified Ekiti natives to key posts in his government.
