The Edo State Government has stated that it owes no money to employees of the state-owned Ambrose Alli University (AAU), noting that all arrears and entitlements have been paid.

Christopher Nehikhare, the state Commissioner for Communications and Orientation, made the announcement while speaking to journalists in Benin City, the Edo State capital.

Crusoe Osagie, the state governor’s communications aide, quoted Nehikhare as claiming that the school, which has over 33,000 students, has remained in session and is not affected by the Academic Staff Union of Universities strike (ASUU).
