Sandra Fratus, a 51-year-old Italian woman, has been arrested on suspicion of murdering her Nigerian lover in Italy.
Following a violent argument at their home in Morengo, Bergamo province, Fratus allegedly stabbed 31-year-old Ernest Emperor Mohamed in the chest with a knife.
The incident occurred on Friday, November 25, 2022.
According to police, after stabbing the deceased, the suspect attempted to resuscitate him by giving him a heart massage before paramedics arrived.
The woman’s 23-year-old son was the first to notice what had happened after returning home and discovering that his mother had changed her relationship status on Facebook to “widow.”
The woman is being held for “voluntary homicide aggravated by futile reasons.”
The suspect’s lawyer stated that the house had been in a state of “profound discomfort and fragility” for some time, implying that Sandra may have grabbed the knife in an attempt to defend herself.
