Rangers International FC have advanced to the semi-finals of the 2025 President Federation Cup after a gritty 1-0 win over a determined Plateau United side in a pulsating quarter-final showdown at the Area 3 Football Pitch in Abuja.

The decisive moment came in the 30th minute when Chiedozie Okorie found the net. The striker capitalized on a brilliant, long-range clearance from teenage goalkeeper Divine Onuorah, calmly dispatching the ball past Plateau United’s keeper to give Rangers the lead.

The second half delivered end-to-end action, with both teams chasing goals. However, a combination of disciplined defending and stellar goalkeeping kept the scoreline unchanged.

Divine Onuorah, in particular, stole the spotlight with two stunning late saves to deny Plateau United a last-minute equalizer, ultimately sealing the win for the ‘Flying Antelopes’.

Speaking after the match, Coach Ekeh Ekenedilichukwu—standing in for Technical Adviser Fidelis Ilechukwu—praised his team’s resilience:
“This is a sweet and well-deserved victory against a tactically astute side coached by Mbwas Mangut. We’ll keep pushing until the very end.”

Rangers General Manager and CEO, Amobi Ezeaku who watched from the bench, added:
“We remain humble in victory. It was a tough battle against a formidable team, but we gave everything. Our focus remains on going all the way.”

Rangers are now set to face Kwara United in the semi-finals, with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) expected to announce the match date soon.
