Abubakar Mohammed, a father of seven, was sentenced to death for murdering his girlfriend for money rituals.
After a friend, Buhari Mohammed, told him that he could make N10 million from someone looking for human eyeballs, the convict murdered Christiana Augustin and removed her eyes and other body parts.
Abubakar went to Christiana’s house to convince her to meet him at the unfinished building where they usually met. He then slit her throat and plucked out her eyeballs with his knife.
The body of Christiana was discovered in the unfinished building the following day, leading to his arrest.
Abubakar was sentenced to culpable homicide by Justice Bulila Ikaro of the Adamawa State High Court situated in Yola, after being found guilty of possessing human parts and offering them for sale.
