Okechukwu Eleonu’s family has demanded justice after he was reportedly shot dead by a former commander of a dissolved Vigilante outfit in Rivers State.
Eleonu, a former chairman of Mgbuola village, Ndele in Emohua Local Council of Rivers State, was assassinated on Saturday, October 15, for exposing bunkering operations in the community.
Mary Eleonu, the deceased’s wife, has also requested that the suspected perpetrator be apprehended.
The Rivers State Police Command’s spokesperson, Superintendent of Police (SP), Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the incident, saying that an investigation is underway.
