Cardiff City, currently facing relegation from the Championship, have appointed veteran midfielder Aaron Ramsey to take charge of their final three matches of the season following the dismissal of manager Omer Riza earlier on Saturday.
In an official statement, the club confirmed that Ramsey, who also captains the Wales national team, will step into the interim managerial role with immediate effect. The 34-year-old, despite having no prior coaching experience, has long expressed a desire to pursue a career in management.

Ramsey will begin his tenure on the touchline during Monday’s crucial home fixture against Oxford United.
Assisting him will be former Wales international and current U-19s manager Chris Gunter, along with experienced Cardiff midfielder Joe Ralls.
Cardiff currently sit second from bottom in the table, just one point away from safety, and will be hoping Ramsey’s leadership can steer them clear of the drop.
