CAF Confirms Host Venues for CHAN 2024 Across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda

The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF), in collaboration with the host nations—Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda—has officially announced the venues for key matches of the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024.

Scheduled to take place from 2 to 30 August 2025, CHAN 2024 marks the tournament’s return to East Africa for the first time since the 2016 edition in Rwanda.

Confirmed Venues for Major Matches:

  • Opening Match: Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania – 2 August 2025

  • Third-Place Match: Mandela National Stadium, Kampala, Uganda

  • Final Match: Kasarani Stadium, Nairobi, Kenya – 30 August 2025

CAF has also confirmed Zanzibar as an official host venue, reinforcing its dedication to broadening the inclusivity and reach of African football. The Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar, which successfully hosted the 2024/25 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup Final in May, will feature prominently in this year’s tournament.

Host Cities and Group Stage Allocation:

  • Group ANairobi, Kenya: Kenya, Morocco, Angola, DR Congo, Zambia

  • Group BDar es Salaam, Tanzania: Tanzania, Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic

  • Group CKampala, Uganda: Uganda, Niger, Guinea, South Africa, Algeria

  • Group DZanzibar: Senegal, Congo*, Sudan, Nigeria

Meanwhile, Following a decision by the CAF Appeals Board, Congo replaced Equatorial Guinea in the tournament lineup.
