Afrofusion star Burna Boy has become the first African artist to sell out the iconic Stade de France, delivering a high-energy performance that lit up Paris over the weekend.
The Nigerian singer packed the 80,000-capacity stadium, one of Europe’s largest, with fans eager to witness a historic night of music. Following the concert, Burna Boy took to Instagram to thank his fans: “Remember what I said about empty chairs? Thank you France for consistently making my dreams come true.”
Backed by his band, The Outsiders, and a full troupe of dancers, Burna Boy performed an electrifying set featuring hit songs such as City Boys, Last Last, and Sittin’ on Top of the World. The crowd sang along with every track, turning the performance into a powerful communal experience.
The night also featured appearances by a host of international artists, transforming the event into a global musical showcase. Senegalese music legend Youssou Ndour, British rapper Santan Dave, French-Congolese singer Dadju, and French-Haitian artist Joé Dwèt Filé joined Burna on stage. French-Cameroonian rapper Werenoi, Nigerian stars Fireboy DML and Shallipopi, DJ Lambo, and Burna’s sister Nissi also made appearances.
“Sold this stadium in a couple of months, off cycle! I’m so thankful for you all!” Burna Boy shared in another message. “Big love to all my people that graced the stage with me! I appreciate every last one of you.”
The concert, complete with fireworks and standout performances, marked a milestone not just for Burna Boy, but for African music on the global stage.
