The Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council on Monday, labeled former House Speaker Yakubu Dogara and certain Christian rebels in the ruling All Progressives Congress as imposters.
Bayo Onanuga, Director of Media and Publicity for the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, made the announcement on Monday.
The news comes only 24 hours after Northern Christian leaders in the APC warned that voting along religious lines in the 2023 general election might have severe effects for Nigerians and jeopardize national progress.
The APC Northern Christian leaders, led by Dogara and Babachir Lawal, a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, resolved to focus on matters that unite them as a people rather than inciting assaults on sensitive religious issues.
The decisions were stated in a communiqué jointly signed by Dogara and Mukhari Shagari, a former deputy governor of Sokoto State and ex-Minister of Water Resources during President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration, following a consultative meeting held in Abuja on Saturday.
Onanuga accused Dogara of going insane when he realized his self-imposed aspiration to be on the All Progressives Congress presidential ticket was no longer assured.
According to him, the former speaker has suddenly turned into a reprobate and demagogue, making hate speeches and stirring up emotions in order to set our nation on fire.
