Former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Amaju Pinnick, has been appointed as Special Adviser to the President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe.
The appointment was ratified by the CAF Executive Committee during its meeting on Saturday.
In his new capacity, the 54-year-old Pinnick will participate in CAF Executive Committee meetings, contributing his wealth of experience to the organization’s leadership.
This new role comes shortly after Pinnick lost his seat on the FIFA Executive Committee.
He was the third Nigerian to serve on the FIFA Council, following in the footsteps of Oyo Orok Oyo and Amos Adamu.
Pinnick’s appointment is seen as a recognition of his significant contributions to the growth and development of football across the African continent.
