Air peace, the largest airline in West and Central Africa, has achieved a major milestone by operating a historic non-stop flight from Nigeria to the Caribbean nation of St. Kitts and Nevis. The landmark journey, which took off from Abuja on June 12, 2025, marks the airline’s continued expansion into global routes.
The ten-hour flight was operated by a Boeing 777 aircraft and transported delegates attending a Pan-African business conference. Departing from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport and landing at Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport in Basseterre, the trip marks the first time a Nigerian airline has flown directly to St. Kitts and Nevis, establishing a new aviation link between the two regions.
This development is Air Peace’s third successful foray into the Caribbean in five years. In December 2020, the airline launched a non-stop service to Montego Bay, Jamaica, followed by another milestone flight to Antigua and Barbuda in August 2023. The recent flight to St. Kitts and Nevis completes the trio of direct Caribbean destinations pioneered by the Nigerian carrier.
The milestone also underscores the growing capabilities of Air Peace’s long-haul Boeing 777 fleet, which is currently used for the airline’s daily Lagos-London Gatwick service launched on March 30, 2025. Chairman and CEO of Air Peace, Dr. Allen Onyema, has reaffirmed the airline’s global ambitions, with plans underway to add more wide-body aircraft, enhance the Abuja-London route, and introduce flights to Houston and New York.
With the motto, “Nigeria to the world—no stops, no limits,” Air Peace is positioning itself as a key player in international aviation, aiming to connect Nigeria directly with key global destinations.
